Pathways in Technology
The P-Tech program of study is for students to earn an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Computer Technology with a Cybersecurity option within two years of graduating from ACPS. Students who move through the coursework at an accelerated pace will have other options available. These students can potentially earn a second Associate of Applied Science Degree in another option within the Computer Technology program or transfer to Frostburg State University to complete a Baccalaureate Degree in a computer science field.
Western Maryland Works
The mission of Western Maryland Works is to prepare tomorrow’s workforce with state-of-the-art equipment to meet the industry 4.0 Manufacturing and Technology needs of Allegany County and the surrounding region. They partner with Allegany County Public Schools to offer students the opportunity to receive industry recognized credentials and college credits starting their junior year of high school. Participating students will qualify to test for up to 20 nationally accredited credentials and be recognized by the state of Maryland with a CTE Completer certification in Manufacturing Engineering Technology.
Allegany College of Maryland & Frostburg State University
Allegany College of Maryland (ACM) and Frostburg State University (FSU) are dedicated to equipping students with the skills and knowledge needed for success in today’s job market. ACM focuses on career-oriented programs, offering hands-on training and professional certifications that align with industry demands. FSU emphasizes a blend of academic excellence and experiential learning, providing internships, research opportunities, and career services that prepare students for competitive roles in diverse fields. Together, these institutions play a vital role in fostering a well-rounded, job-ready workforce.
